Ok, I have my base French #authres text that I'm going to comprehensify to teach about how Christmas is celebrated in 95% Muslim Senegal! If anyone wants to join in on creating this mini unit with me here's a copy: docs.google.com/document/d/1DO…

I'm working with this video: information.tv5monde.com/video/senegal-… and this article: vivreauxmoutiers.org/2020/12/20/noe…

I can't believe I am currently comprehensifying an #authres but here I am! Pretty exciting. Something to add to the resume.

Inspired by Benjamin Tinsley...I spun out a zouk article he worked with. Students will do a venn diagram of either zouk and afrobeats or zouk and banda. They'll be provided with descriptors in TL and have to decide where the descriptors go! (TW: some typos)

Anyone have resources on the history of Saint-Pierre (Martinique) before the eruption of Mt Pelée in 1902? Was "Paris of the West Indies" & had huge thriving Black population. Reading about the massacre it brings to mind Black Wall Street in Tulsa, but was a natural disaster

Are you really a CI teacher if you don't make multiple choice questions that make you (and your students) laugh? I think my favorite is using "eat" in a weird context

Tell me what it means to teach "grammar as a concept"—seriously, I heard BVP laugh and say "what does that even mean?" and I'm curious
