🚨IMPORTANT: UPDATE ON PHYSICIAN ASSOCIATES SCANDAL The BMA has called on Health Secretary Wes Streeting to stop dangerous substitution of doctors as 13,000 doctors add their names to letter warning of grave concern & risk to patient safety over current use of MAPs in the NHS

Video clips are considered the gold standard in obstetric ultrasound imaging. If hospitals can't do this, families should be allowed to record their own scans. SoR's reasons for discouraging this just don't stack up.

Update 25; These are the trusts that are not retaining views (responses received so far) chng.it/z2gR7PSLtN via Change.org UK Please help us get emails to these trust CEO's via your local MP

62 trusts have advised they retain fetal cardiac views, 48 trusts have advised they don’t.  2 trusts have advised they have hospitals that do both. 10 trusts are yet to respond to our FOI's 3 months later.  Currently, we figure that’s 56% of trusts that retain and 44% that don’t.

56% of trusts retaining fetal cardiac views at the 20 week scan is significant. “The standard of care provided by a competent ultrasound practitioner is that which the majority of similar individuals would provide" (Society of Radiographers).

We're still waiting on 10 trusts to respond. If you'd like a copy of our spreadsheet drop us an email on [email protected] We've provided it to the CRG. We understand our data may be linked with some more specific national detection data that is being collated.

Data storage costs have been suggested as a reason trusts can't retain views. Patients are also prevented from filming their own scans on their phones, not because it interferes with equipment, but because sonographers would be distracted and sonographer privacy compromised🤷‍♂️😳🙃

Molly's Missing Views (@viewsmissing) 's Twitter Profile Photo

chng.it/QBV5NszDpD We'd suggest patients have every right to film during their 20 week scan if their trust is not. The material and justification provided by our trust just doesn't make sense now we have brought the national picture into focus

Currently our figures suggest; 11 trusts retain images and clips 55 trusts retain images only 48 trusts don't retain anything 2 trusts retain the situs view only. 2 trusts have hospital sites retaining and not retaining views.   #CHD #pregnancy #congenitalheartdefect

Molly & her Dad minutes after birth. It was another 10 months before we found out she had a life threatening heart condition - that needed surgery in the first year of life. We were fortunate Molly was able to have surgery weeks after diagnosis. justgiving.com/page/mollys-mi…

Today our Trust requested permission to release their two responses to our complaints to our local MP. We have provided our Ombudsman complaint to our MP also for good measure. We're still hopeful our Trust will change their policy. Ed Miliband #chd

Shortage of staff, significant demand, limited appointment times and no need to keep records. Surely this is a recipe for failure. #FASP #CHD #fetalanomalyscan #20weekscan #sonography #pregnancy #congenitalheartdefect #NHSE
