To honour #BHM I am celebrating some of the texts in my class library written by black writers. After learning about Malorie Blackman last week and discussing her novels, I’m hoping some students will want to read what’s on offer!

In my bid to continue promoting a love for reading, I gave Y11 a little questionnaire & the answers are wonderful. We read every Friday afternoon, my bookshelf has never been so popular & students are talking about what they’re reading. Nearly 90 books have been read since Sept!

Another step in promoting a love for reading. Today, my Y11s got another book - this time wrapped up for Christmas. Some were from my shelf, some new purchases from charity shops and some donated by class members or staff. The genuine gratitude and joy was second to none 🥹
