Tony Gershlick was the first person in the UK to put in a stent and is an absolute household name in cardiology. A huge, ongoing legacy to cardiac research. Very sad to hear of his passing with COVID. Condolences to his family and colleagues.

Best of luck to Dr Ven Gee Lim who will compete in the World Carcassonne Championships in Germany on Saturday. Dr Lim, our Senior Electrophysiology and Devices Fellow, is a three-time UK champion (2017, 2019 and 2021) of the European board game. Bring the title home Ven!

The UK Carcassonne team are back in action again as the European Team Championships return for 2021. Wish us luck!

Despite an underwhelming start, we managed to claw our way back up the table to second place and have qualified for the knock-out stage! Next stop: Czech Republic!
