A few 🌈 time-lapse movies from my storm chase this afternoon. No 🌪️ were seen (or reported anywhere in the US today), but still a worthwhile adventure. #CAwx

A couple time-lapse movies of convective rain showers moving through #Monterey this afternoon (first one from Monterey Wharf, second from downtown), plus a #timelapse of a giant “raft” of sea lions (at least 100 🦭) from the Municipal Wharf. #CAwx

Went for a 9-mile hike in Ft Ord National Monument today. Timelapse of moderate convection capped by pileus clouds, video of sheep and some goats (turn sound on 🔉) and finally, a 🐑🐐-lapse. #CAwx #timelapse Bureau of Land Management California

No earthquakes felt in downtown #Monterey (yet) today, but got some nice convective showers with graupel associated with the cold upper low. #CAwx NWS Bay Area 🌉

Got to witness #totality of #Eclipse2024 near Pancake, TX. First fully successful eclipse chase (after having the only storm in SC move overhead just before totality in 2017)! In the totality photo, can see Venus on the right just above cloud. 🌞 🕳️ 🥞 #TXwx NWS Fort Worth

Flying over southern Greenland (approximately west to east, facing north) at 3am this morning. The Greenland Ice Sheet and a glacier flowing into a fjord can be seen at the start of this time lapse, followed by mountain wave clouds over the higher terrain. 🇬🇱

Yesterday (Oct 7th), the Hurricane Hunters reported flocks of birds within the eye of Hurricane #Milton. While this phenomenon has been observed before and is likely common, it appears to be the first time that “birds” have been mentioned in an official Vortex Data Message.
