Hello, Los Angeles! This past weekend, #UTLASummer2023 students enjoyed treats from Porto's Bakery and took in the sights of the city on a hike up to the Griffith Observatory.

Kicking off the summer with a tour of the iconic Warner Bros. Studios! We were thrilled to explore some iconic sets on the backlot like the Gilmore Girls gazebo and Friends Central Perk coffee shop, and even ran into UTLA alum and now Warner Bros. employee, Emily Koller!

Four extra tickets to the BET awards?! We'll take it! On Sunday, UTLA Instructor Drew Ferrante took four UTLA students to the 2023 BET Awards in downtown Los Angeles. They watched celebrity presenters, award winners and performances from artists like Glorilla and Lil Uzi Vert.

Congratulations to UT Austin alum, UTLA supporter and accomplished composer Blake Neely who earned another Emmy nomination today! His score for "Pamela, A Love Story" is up for Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special this year!
