I'm old enough to remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs. We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives. What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.

Yesterday we got up early and headed down to Willy Twiston-davies to see Beauport and High Treason on the gallops. Beauport has been eating acorns out in a field and gave Fay Shulton a fright with his urine blood coloured. Has since been turned out in to a different actor free field.

I really think the handicapper has decided to punish our horses! High Treason beaten 28 lengths has been dropped precisely 1 lb. Royal Rambler gone up 11 lbs whist standing in a field this summer and poor Beauport saddled with a huge rise last year. Enough to want to give up….

Still so much looking good in the garden but the standouts are the Brugs, the Malus Red Sentinel and Galanthus Peter Gatehouse.
