In South Sudan, the devastating impact of conflict and the climate crisis has left millions without enough to eat. UK aid is helping to alleviate the dire humanitarian need. I’ve been to South Sudan to learn how.

Beautiful commemoration of the life and works of Lord Byron, who spent the summer of 1816 in this same village of Cologny in which the Residence resides, and remembering his spellbinding poetry, his passion for Europe and his love of liberty

Symbolic commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Geneva Conventions on the Place des Nations in the presence of Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and UNSC members As it says, the Conventions are more important than ever - despite the violations - and War Has Limits

Israel’s short-notice evacuation orders in Gaza are causing chaos. Palestinians and UN staff have no safe place to turn. We strongly welcome Israel’s agreement to pause military operations so World Health Organization (WHO) can deliver polio vaccines this weekend. Now we need to see this in action.

A very special photo of World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and our Deputy Permanent Representative for Global Health, Beth Arthy. Today is Beth's last day at the 🇬🇧 Mission - she'll be hugely missed by us all 🥹

2 years on from the publication of the UN Human Rights report on Xinjiang, we once again call on China to implement the UN’s recommendations Claiming that the UN’s meticulously evidenced findings, based almost entirely on China’s own records, are “illegal” is simply not credible

I welcome the news that the polio vaccine campaign is underway in Gaza. UK funding to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative is supporting the delivery of this vital vaccine. It’s imperative that staff have sufficient time to continue vaccinating in safe conditions this week.

The UK is a key partner for IOM. I had a great meeting with Minister for Development Anneliese Dodds to discuss solutions to some of the largest displacement crises worldwide, including those caused by climate change.

Such exciting news. I have come to know Professor Dapo Akande of University of Oxford through his campaign for and time on the International Law Commission in Geneva and I have seen the high regard in which he is held. He would be a terrific addition to the ICJ.
