Rare that I shill for anyone in here, but if there's any justice in the world, Gary Stevenson will become a household name within 3 years. Read. This. Book.

This was a great gathering of key thinkers in this field. What I learned tonight is that the challenges are many and great - but we have the tools, skills and collective awareness for real progress.

Have found Ed Zitron's acerbic call outs of big tech's growth-driven insanity quite cathartic of late. The way occasionally screaming into a pillow can be... pca.st/episode/8a5d37…

I may set up a direct action campaign group called JUST STOP FUTUROLOGY - the Blair tank is top of the list. The world needs fewer noteworthy public figures 'thought leading' about our AI enabled future with the verifiably flimsiest of understanding of what they're talking about

To every tech (or tech adjacent) leader in the NHS: Being credulous to this level of vainglorious, hype-saturated BS will be the end of your credibility. This isn't 'anti-AI' position, its just pro-empiricism.

In the face of extreme challenges, its relatively easy to envision the world you want to avoid dealing with the world you have. Today, the sad result is the professionalisation of AI 'fan fiction' - pedalled hardest by those who understand it least. politico.eu/article/tony-b…

Excited to be organising and running another of these super events this weekend! I never get bored of seeing what people come up with in just a weekend! #nhshd27

Patient records and the NHS App are in the news again. Me and Matt Stibbs wrote down some thoughts. TLDR: the perfect architectural approach won’t solve for fundamental environmental challenges that need addressing. public.digital/pd-insights/bl…

Identifying and solving the *right* problems is fundamentally it. An accurate understanding of the problems that matter most is the bedrock of real improvement. It can be v. challenging to do this at the scale of the NHS, but ultimately its the only thing truly *worth* doing.
