As of 30 July 2024, Regional Express Holdings and several of its subsidiaries have entered voluntary administration. Rex Airlines regional Saab 340 flights remain unaffected, but major city flights are cancelled. VA, QF and JQ are offering to re-accommodate impacted passengers.

The Federal Government has announced that it will guarantee regional flight bookings for Rex customers throughout the voluntary administration process. As such, travellers can still book regional flights on Rex during this time with the assurance of flying or receiving a refund.
