All right WV High School Coaches / Administrators. Its time to move the North-South Game to December. Every other State does their game in December so coaches like me can see them during recruiting. In June, we have used all scholarship money and its too late.

As a parent I just watched my kid sit on the bench for 3 straight games today. What an awesome opportunity to evaluate for me as a parent & my child as a player. It’s my job as a parent to teach my child how to deal with that & to help my child learn how to get off the bench.

You don’t chop wood because you need it today. You chop it today so you have it when you need a fire tomorrow. Your team will face adversity. Do the work today to build relational trust and culture so when adversity hits, you can overcome. Make sure you have wood for the fire.

MJ played JV as soph. Pip started college as manager, Rodman didn’t play HS basketball. Kerr had no offers until after his senior year. Meanwhile we have people trying to commit as 8th graders, worrying about exposure and constantly comparing young age groups. Just get better.

If you have t seen the Highland Sports Complex in Wheeling Wv , you really should. It’s absolutely amazing!!! The state should do four regions with the same type of complex. Northern, eastern , central and southern. Every kid in the state in every sport would benefit
