He halts quickly as phoenix appears in front of him, with a frustrated sigh. "My problem is you. Why is it everywhere I go in this place I have to listen to your arrogant fucking voice?!"

He has earphones in, blasting loud music in his ears in an attempt to drown out the stream of other people's thoughts he's picking up on.

"It was rough. We both took it bad. We just kind of agreed never to talk about it again." He laughs, just a little. "That'd be such a shitty way to die."
