Today I was called “sir” by a shocked employee at bnq and ex pupil who looked as if a ghost had reappeared from the dead yet also just hours later gave the same look to my gcse maths teacher as she strolled past my front door. Swings and roundabouts ey.

Wellbeing in teaching is the ability to accept the fact you will never complete the work. Once you learn to live with that uneasy feeling of there always being something you could be doing and allow yourself to switch off it becomes a lot easier.

Including a 5 minute discussion on my favourite book at the start of each lesson for #WorldBookDay amazing how engaged my Y10 class were with discussing philosophical anthropology.

Isn’t this what teaching is all about?

Really focussing on reviving my use of engaging assessment techniques this half term. This peer assessed washing line technique allowing Y7 students to explore varying opinions on the statement “square numbers can be positive and negative”.

My first thought at learning we’ll have an extra Monday off in May is for all those teachers with double GCSE classes on Mondays. My thoughts are with you.

Delivering a CPD session tomorrow and finally getting to grips with the space/place argument that led to me look at human geographers as if they were aliens.

All teachers watching the football reacting to the 4th official added time ……….. and pack away thank you very much.
