After 14 months, I’ve decided to stop being jobless. Starting a new job in 2 weeks. Until then, I’m cooking up a new idea and aiming for a playable MVP/alpha before then. And why not document the process? So, here’s Day 1 of work:

⭐️Day 2⭐️ Added a worker assignment system 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️ Buildings now need workers to produce resources, and output depends on how many are assigned #gamedev

⭐️Day 3⭐️ Added ducks! 🦆 Worker count is now capped by the ducks available. There are still a few edge cases in the job assignment system, but it’s almost done Also, buildings now consume resources to build #gamedev #indiedev

⭐️Day 4⭐️ Added Population system Spawning ducks now costs food and require capacity. Houses increase capacity. #gamedev #indiedev

⭐️Day 5⭐️ Unit selection & movement Started working on the RTS portion of the game #WIP. It's janky, gonna finish it up today (hopefully) #gamedev #indiedev

⭐️Day 7⭐️ Now that the RTS selection and unit movement are done! I can move onto the Night phase. What’s that? Ducks will have 2 roles: ☀️ Day - gather resources & build tools 🌙 Night - defend the colony from invaders #gamedev #indiedev

⭐️Day 8⭐️ Ducks now have night defense roles to guard the colony once the sun goes down Also added a visual separation between day and night phases ☀️🌙 #gamedev #indiedev

⭐️1st update after starting new job⭐️ Since last time: 🛠️ updated systems 🪲 bug fixes 🖌️ FINALLY worked on UI! There's still a lot to do, but the core of the game is here! I think the first playable version of this should be up Soon™ 😁 #gamedev #indiedev
