Let’s talk about COVID, brain damage & society. Specifically, what happens when a neurotropic virus repeatedly infects the population, targeting the frontal lobe & almost nobody talks about the consequences? This thread is for the skeptics. I’m a neurologist, stay with me 🧵

I fondly remember Brian Hjele, referencing Balloux, claiming covid was not neurotropic, along with the anonymous account Jasnah_wanderer, saying covid was not "brain melting." What a world their "expertise" brought us.

2023, The World Health Organisation: “An estimated one in 10 infections results in post-Covid conditions suggesting that hundreds of millions of people will need longer-term care” 2025, Governments: “Why is everyone sick? Why does disability keep rising?” FFS…🙄 #LongCovid

COVID damages the brain, independent of severity. Fact. This means behavioural & emotional alterations, not just memory & executive function. Fact. Reinfections lead to cumulative damage. Fact. The very regions damaged are the ones needed to notice the damage. Fact. 🦠=🧠☠️

In 2020 I published a paper arguing that there likely was an element of CD8 T cell death in Covid. For the following years, I was met with overall antipathy from many professors for claiming covid was harming T cells. Now, a new publication highlights persistent T cell

A study of 40,537 patients reveals that SARS-CoV-2 depletes key immune cells for up to 20 months. This persistent dysregulation is most severe in older men and those with cardiovascular disease. ijidonline.com/article/S1201-…

Stellenbosch University researchers propose that viral infections like SARS-CoV-2 can trigger long COVID and ME/CFS by causing long-term endothelial senescence, disrupting blood flow and immunity and leading to chronic, multisystem symptoms. nature.com/articles/s4141…

A massive study of 40,537 people in @ScienceDirect just redefined C0VID as "a condition of long-lasting immune compromise." 20 months post-infection, T-cells & NK cells (our primary viral & cancer defense) had NOT recovered. So much for "It's mild." sciencedirect.com/science/articl… 🧵1

deserves repeating: SARS-CoV-2 -> Cancer to everyone living "healthy": getting COVID 2x/year for the rest of your life, is not healthy do the math, connect the dots

It will never make sense to me that so many people are not making an effort to prevent being reinfected by a virus that keeps being linked to neurodegeneration. A mask is slightly inconvenient. Neurodegeneration is very inconvenient.
