Our 1st & 2nd graders did an amazing job at their concert last Tuesday! After all their hard work and practice, it was great to see them show it all off. Thank you all for attending and supporting our musicians!
And thank you Mrs. Ahrens for the picture!
Cedar Heights EL students have been working hard! They are learning about Officer ELL - who enforces the rules of writing, curating their own English picture dictionaries, and learning that putting events in order results in the best finished product!
Mr. Strassburg's class has actively used their research expertise, informative writing techniques, citing text evidence, oral presentation skills, and outstanding visual arts creativity. They are designing original visuals to depict their nonfiction informative topics.
5th graders in Mrs. Taylor’s class tackled a Geometry Goosechase this morning! Students flexed their knowledge of everything from perpendicular lines to coordinate graphing and shapes. To earn points, they had to show what they knew by explain their thinking w/pictures or videos.
Miss Mescher's class enjoyed planning and creating boats using recycled materials for the Boat Regatta last week. Students loved racing them and seeing which designs were the fastest:)
Last week, Mrs. Schmitt's 2nd grade class made boats for the Regatta race (Makerspace Challenge). Her students have also been working hard gathering facts for their biography writing. Way to go, 2nd graders!!
Ice cream sundaes were on board in Mrs. Brown’s classroom. Students have worked really hard to master their multiplication basic facts. For every accomplishment - more ice cream scoops or toppings were added. It was a great day celebrating the students’ mastery of multiplication.
Students worked together to measure angles in Mrs. Brown’s 4th grade class. For every correct angle they measures and MATCHED with their partners - students earned tickets. Students were surprised that the tickets they earned were actually taller than their own height.
Congratulations Kindergarten for receiving the "Golden Lunch Tray Award" the most often this year and earning an extra Popcorn Party! Thank you Mr. Ruane for helping pop the popcorn! Keep up the good work Kindergarten!
With only a couple days left of having these 6th graders at Cedar Heights, Mr. Strassburg couldn’t miss out on the chance to catch one of their baseball games this weekend and taking lots of pictures:)
We are so thankful that one of our former students, Will, decided to include us in his Eagle Scout project. Will, with the help of family and friends, worked hard through a rainy week to make this piece of concrete on our playground come alive for our students to enjoy:)
Mrs. Ebling’s 1st graders took on a syllable name challenge on the very first day of school! Together, they worked hard to learn everyone’s names while practicing listening and teamwork. It took both collaboration and fortitude to complete the challenge!
