If you’re a castle scholar, take a look at this CfP for next year’s IMC_Leeds, organised by Dr Will Wyeth. It’s sure to be a great panel, reflecting on castle studies in the present day 🏰

Dunnottar Castle, located on a rugged headland on Scotland's northeast coast, holds a fascinating and complex history. Although the castle as it stands today primarily dates from the 15th and 16th centuries, its story stretches back much further. Archaeological evidence suggests

It's #adoorableThursday so here is the door to one of the few surviving Postman's Huts in the UK. This one is near Presteigne on the Welsh/English border (it is just in England). Rural postman used to rest in such huts on their long daily treks (sometimes over 20 miles a day).

Just picked up the final edition of London's Evening Standard, whose history stretches back to 1827. A sad day for journalism in Britain - not just the job losses, but also the fact that a capital of millions of people can't seem to sustain a daily newspaper

Buckland Abbey #Devon Founded 1278 by Amicia de Redvers, Dowager Countess of Devon, who gifted 20,000 acres. Keystone boss from monastery, once thought to represent Amicia, reset above external doorway. Fascinating image, whoever they were. 📸: my own
