Robert Hichens, Titanic’s Quartermaster, was at the helm when the iceberg was spotted and later commanded Lifeboat 6. His conduct sparked controversy. After Titanic, he struggled and passed away in 1940, buried in Aberdeen’s Trinity Cemetery, a discovery confirmed in 2012.

Some of these hand-carved treasures from the aft Grand Staircase were found floating in the North Atlantic and recovered by ships after the Titanic sank. Today, they’re on display at our Pigeon Forge location—a stunning glimpse into Titanic’s elegance. 🛳️✨

Helena Rosblom, born in Finland in 1870, boarded Titanic with her children to join her husband in Oregon. Originally on Olympic, they switched after Salli fell ill. Tragically, they perished, and their bodies were never identified. Helena’s husband later received compensation.

On his 42nd birthday, Solomon Banewer boarded Titanic as a second-class passenger. Born in Lithuania and living in Boston, his life remains full of mysteries. He perished in the sinking, and his body was never identified.

On June 26, 1912, the City of Liverpool honored Captain Arthur Rostron of the Carpathia with a gold medal and an illuminated address for his heroic efforts in rescuing Titanic’s survivors. A powerful reminder of the courage and compassion shown in the aftermath of tragedy. 🌊⚓

Aboard Titanic’s lifeboats, stewardess Sarah Stap carried a matchbox from the First Class Smoking Room. She used it to light their way that night. 10 matches remain, and the matchbox is now on display in our Life Jacket & Lifeboat Exhibit at Titanic Museum Branson. 🔥

Beatrice Sandström, born in 1910, survived Titanic at age 1, rescued in Lifeboat 13 with her mother and sister. After the tragedy, the family returned to Sweden. Beatrice later ran a bakery and lived to 85. As a child, she may have mistaken rockets for the moon falling.
