"anti-maths mindset". A ridiculous phrase summing up a half baked policy. Firm prediction - kids will not be compulsorily studying Maths between 16 and 18 any time in the future.

Last night, the incredible Stanley Tucci hosted an evening in aid of our work at the Royal Albert Hall! This comes at a time when we announced that the food banks in our networked provided almost 3 million food parcels last year. We're so grateful to Stanley for his support. 💚

Yesterday I got arrested whilst filming a Just Stop Oil supporter holding a banner on the pavement near the coronation route. I'm a filmmaker and had my @BECTU press accreditation visible around my neck. Police deemed this to be "conspiracy to commit a public nuisance".

Exclusive: Thought the arrest of Graham Smith 🇺🇦 🏳️‍🌈 🇬🇱 🐧 and Republic protesters at the King’s coronation was a bit over the top? Meet Alice Chambers, a quiet, 36-year-old Aussie who’s lived in London for about seven years. What happened to her on Saturday is a wild ride.🧵

A new law is threatening to roll back our rights, and further erode public trust in data and AI. To build a just, equitable and sustainable data-driven world, the public need a powerful say. Jeni Tennison laid this out to MPs yesterday. Catch up: connectedbydata.org/events/2023-05… #DPDIbill

Happy #WorldBeeDay! 🐝 We love this illustration of Sir John Lubbock, who in 1874 became the first President of BBKA - don't miss the charming #poem at the bottom! Part of Sambourne's 'Fancy Portraits' series for Punch Cartoons ... and more

The Elderly Squirrel had made a plan. Each morning, he decided, he would walk to the village square & back. Not awfully far, but enough. And he would make sure he had a proper conversation with someone too, Old Fox or the Doctor or Mrs Evans. I can do this, he told himself firmly.

The VIP lane scandal saw billions of taxpayers’ money handed to Conservative cronies. Tonight Labour voted to shut it down. What did the Tories do?

I stand on the threshold to the Garden feeling the air over my whiskers, caressing the fur of my back. Everything is bright and warm, softly swaying. Scent dances in my mouth as I step onto the soft grass for the first time. Kitten no longer. #MicroflashMonday "Home vs Garden"

From my new book about Nonfiction and Truth. Data graphics on television, advertising, and second-rate news reports are going for cute. We've got a big truth problem, not a lack of cuteness problem.
