The BONE IG meeting @ACSM is on tonight between 1800 and 1930, Room 304. We have an action-packed agenda, including a ‘for/against’ motion on ‘Remodelling is the primary adaptive physiologic response of bone to exercise’ with the brilliant Julie Hughes and Eimear Dolan.

This is timely after a great week of chatting bone and iron at #ACSM24. Our latest paper on iron and bone ⁦Julie Greeves OBE - 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿⁩. Iron status is associated with tibial structure and vitamin D metabolites in healthy young men - ScienceDirect sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Very proud of our latest paper in JBMR. This study was TOUGH but luckily we have Charlotte Coombs! Here we show that a 1000 mg calcium supplement is protective of calcium and bone metabolism in women during load carriage. academic.oup.com/jbmr/article-a…

More science! After completing a blood draw (we are our own phlebotomists up here), we spun the tubes in a centrifuge and then put them in the MELFI (Minus Eighty Degree Laboratory Freezer for International Space Station) for later return to the ground. This study is looking at bone
