⚠️ The pathways on The Abbey Craig are temporarily closed this morning due to an escaped herd of cows (Wed 28 Aug). We would like to ask dog walkers in particular to keep dogs on a leash and to avoid the area if possible. An update will be provided once the area has re-opened.

UPDATE: The cows have now thankfully been mooved on and the woodland pathways on The Abbey Craig are open again as normal 🐮 (Wed 28 Aug).

The Wallace Sword has always stood for justice, and is sometimes referred to as ‘Freedom’s Sword’. #OTD in 1912, suffragette Ethel Moorhead (under the alias of Edith Johnston) smashed the sword case to draw attention to the women’s cause for the freedom of political expression.
