As I get older, I used to think racial relations were quite poor. I remember Rodney King, I remember residential schools closing. I remember Tupac saying there would never be a black president. I can confidently say: this is the most racist society I have ever experienced.

Having a weird moment right now where I am, I think, celebrating what we’ve accomplished. Bumped into someone who called us pioneers for black fronted punk music in Canada. Sat back. He was right. For a long time it was just S A T E and us. Love how the community is growing

I’m taking a moment to realize for black people, in punk rock, from this country. We were one of the first and still one of the longest running bands. We have been holding down this whole country for some time now and we can’t even win a black music award. Lolol.
