On the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, we hear from the students of the Grand Lycée Franco-Libanais who attended a reading of #WindmillsOfOurHearts, a book of short stories by 15 women relatives of missing & forcibly disappeared persons in #Lebanon.

#ATJF2024: "When a conflict ends, education becomes a tool for democracy. Education reform shouldn't be underestimated. It is a difficult task as it touches on national identity,” said ICTJ Expert Reem El Grantri, when discussing societal transformation in TJ contexts.

#ATJF2024 | "The role of the international community in a context of mass atrocities is to stand between the powerful and the powerless," stated ICTJ expert Howard Varney in a panel about how legal institutions can ensure accountability for atrocities.

#ATJF2024 | "We have matured from viewing peace and justice as conflicting concepts to embracing both as mutually reinforcing concepts. We have defined our own TJ issues, values and priorities, which resonate with our lived realities in #Africa," concluded ICTJ expert Sarah Kasande.
