I had an absolutely great experience at the Africa Agri Investment Indaba two weeks ago in Cape Town. The gathering brought together industry experts from agriculture and agtech to tackle global food security challenges, and it was nothing short of inspiring.

Contd. My laser-focused interest, of course, was on the transformative role of technology in agriculture—a game-changer for transparency, trust, and ultimately, equity funding.

Contd.3 Think about it: Africa holds 65% of the world’s arable land, agriculture accounts for 50% of direct employment, contributes 20% to GDP and will turnover $1tr by 2030 in Africa. Yet, it remains one of the least-funded sectors by VC.

Contd.4 Why? Because traditional practices dominate, leaving gaps in transparency and trust. Kenya, however, is paving the way with agric-technology and setting a blueprint for leveraging this sector’s economic potential.
