Philip Weiss @AnitaYandle Example: You’re a juror. Abortions are illegal in your state. The defendant doctor performed an abortion. Judge tells you if the defendant performed an abortion, you must find him guilty. You smile and nod and vote not guilty. That’s jury nullification 🪄

Dr. Henry Morgentaler kept getting arrested for performing abortions, and every time the jury used jury nullification. Eventually, Quebec realized they couldn’t enforce the laws and dropped them.
