Total and utter tripe—but tripe is rather tasty, and so the below is far worse than tripe. Does The Church of England really think that its congregants want to hear the below? It is time that the CofE got a grip.

The pernicious ideology of “decolonisation” is now taking root in school education. We should teach evidence, historical fact, and critical thinking—but alas, how far we have departed from these goals.

How will South Korea’s foreign policy change in the event of a Lee Jae-myung victory in tomorrow’s election? Note: this is someone who has denounced US-ROK-Japan trilateral drills as “pro-Japanese”. Pleased to be quoted in Oliver Hotham’s piece for AFP News Agency barrons.com/news/china-dis…

As South Korea veers leftwards, a Lee government's foreign policy--if based upon Lee's past pledges--is likely to have far-from-positive implications on the Korean Peninsula and the East Asian region, at a time of heightened political threat.

Kim Jong Un must be elated, And Putin exhilarated, Xi Jinping quite satiated; While Ishiba's deflated, Zelensky rather frustrated, Whereas Trump's uninterested.

How have we reached a stage where public advertisements—in this case, for Oxford’s Official Walking Tours—are not only devoid of punctuation but contain glaring spelling errors? If I were Mark, I would be most irked.

An important milestone. Freedom of speech and academic freedom are essential components of any university. These values must be upheld and defended, otherwise they will succumb to pernicious ideologies and groupthink.

An excellent piece by Ed Cumming; academic freedom and freedom of speech must be protected and defended. It is hardly a coincidence that the“decolonisation” of reading lists—in the name of diversity—has actually hindered diversity. Viewpoint diversity, where art thou?

What codswallop. A slippery slope, which will also be witnessed in the education sector: the literary canon will not be read in schools on the grounds of “alienating” students; and when students come to university, their literacy levels will be paltry. Decline and fall.

The “makeover” to parliament’s “confusing” language sets a concerning precedent. Whatever next? Dumbing down what students are taught at schools and universities because it is “alienating” or “outdated”? It is slippery slope. My small contribution to today’s The Times and The Sunday Times,

The film has not even been released yet, and there are errata. The “Vice-Chancellor” is wearing an incorrect hood; sub fusc standards are horrendous (a bow tie and a ribbon?); and—yes, I know this will irk many on here—the producers have split an infinitive in the trailer.

How humiliating for the UK that foreign think tanks are now producing reports and doing events about the national security implications of a 🇨🇳 mega-embassy in London.

Ambassador Suzuki is not only an excellent Ambassador for Japan, but also for the United Kingdom: his enthusiasm for Britain is just what is needed amidst the gloom of the present. Paddington must be getting a fair few airmiles. I wonder whether he preferred whiskey to whisky.
