I recently spoke with Waldemar Hummer to find out what's new in LocalStack v4 - e.g. visualize and trace event-driven arch end-to-end, or create snapshots of your system. It's crazy how fast they are innovating! youtu.be/vVUBnXD6eto

I finally binged The Orville, it was time well spent, especially seasons 2 and 3! So high on Star Trek nostalgia right now 😅

Saying "coding is dead" is missing the point. Coding isn’t just about creating code, it’s also a way of thinking. It teaches us structure, systems thinking, trade-offs, abstractions and problem decomposition. These are worthwhile skills in their own right.

To be fair, back then, compiler makers didn’t go around saying “compilers are gonna replace developers” the way AI makers and big tech CEOs are today

CloudWatch can do a lot more than you think, but unfortunately a lot of it is hidden behind convoluted UI flows and requires tinkering (eg. to set up cross-account access to logs) Thanks to Tobias Schmidt for the list

It seems when most people say they are vibe coding, they are really just using code assistants/LLMs but still checking/fixing AI outputs themselves. I’m not complaining, I think that’s how you should use LLMs for software engineering, for now at least.
