The University of Michigan needs to meaningfully engage in their social responsibility to invest in the public good.

The University of Michigan needs to explicitly combat anti-Blackness.

The University needs to increase Black enrollment.

Our Black student population has steadily decreased since 2013 and will continue to decrease unless we take action.

The elitist values of the university result in exclusionary practices that further perpetuate the inequities that Black students face.

The university only puts forth initiatives relating to DEI that can coexist with their pre-existing values.

In failing to use their power to the system, UM is an active perpetrator of systemic racism and inequity.

We fully support BSU and the generations of Black students who fought to increase Black enrollment at UM for over 50 years. Low enrollment numbers show that despite DEI pledges, UM remains systemically & stubbornly anti-Black. Regents, make good on your 1970 promise to get to 10%

We unequivocally support #MORETHANFOUR’s 4 Point Platform and encourage everyone to attend their Public Address at 6 pm tonight! The University of Michigan is and has been actively hostile toward the wellbeing of Black students not only in A2 but all its campuses and across the state.

Not even 24 hours after launching our platform our posters have been torn down. This demonstrates the continued display of disregard for Black students which is allowed due to the University’s lack of attentiveness, responsiveness, and actionable steps to combat anti-Blackness.
