绍兴本土文学艺术家徐渭爱兰，除了在《兰谷歌》中那句经典的“勾践种兰必择地，只今兰渚乃其处”之外，他还在送友人仙华送画的题诗中，一句“如我写兰竹，无媚有清苦”，把兰花当作自己生命与人格的写照。他对于兰花的艺术创作不止于文字，在他的书画作品中，亦有《兰香图》等以兰花为题材的经典之作。
