"I prefer not to think of myself as the heart of anything, on account of the fact that my heart was. . well, y'know." He'd chuckle, before getting serious, hand reaching up to grab hers. "I trust you. You trust me. That's how we make this work."

". . since when have you— y'know what, not even gonna' question it. Just don't let the big guy out."

"I've always thought it was you," he says, lips curling into a smile. "Just you." At least he was honest. . at least, he seemed to be. "I'm a man of my word."

"Yeah. . that'll do that to you," he says, with a gentle shrug. "Glad you're back, though. Missed ya', jolly green."

"Jarvis is more of. . the soul. And Id say Rogers is the ass," he'd say, with a cheeky grin, before laughing to himself. "And you're the reason, I feel so happy."

And so Tony just. . lightly pats Bruce's back, taking a deep breath in through his nose as he does such. "You were missed, Bruce. By everyone. We're your friends. Always will be."

"I'm only kidding," he says, before giving her hand a soft squeeze, lips curling into a smile. "But I've always felt like you were the heart. Always will. The glue that holds us together. . and damn, if you aren't a strong glue."

"That was a little more than an argument, Jan." He'd say, before rubbing the back of his neck, and nodding. . warm smile overtaking his lips. "You count for more than you'll ever know."

Which is exactly why he plans on making her a home-cooked dinner, complete with candles, mood-setting lighting, and a nice bath, perfectly set to temperature. Dinner might not be great, but. Rest assured, the rest of it will be.

Today is her day. She deserves the very best. She was every good thing in his life wrapped into one, and he'd never forget that.
