Hi there! I’m Emily Kaiser (Emily Kaiser) and I’m taking over the UD SWMS accounts for the next few days. I am an oceanography masters student studying paleoceanography. Stay tuned to hear more about my research and about what fossils can tell us about past (and future) climates.
Good morning! I’m Nicole Coffey (Nicole R. Coffey) and I’ll be showing you the wonderful world of surface microlayer (SML) sampling today on my #socialmediatakeover ! Featuring Emily Kaiser (Emily Kaiser) and Alina Ebling! #fieldwork #WomenInSTEM #chemicaloceanography
1 station down, 3 to go! We sample the SML by dipping a glass plate into the water (the SML is sticky, and clings to the glass) then squeegee the sample into a bottle! Thanks Emily Kaiser for doing the hard part - dipping the plate! #WomenInSTEM #fieldwork
Hi all! Nicole R. Coffey here again! Thanks to everyone who followed along with us yesterday - stay tuned for future takeovers and other fun happenings on our social media pages!
A few days late but MY FIRST PUBLICATION IS OUT! We took another look at a long-standing hypothesis describing the mechanisms driving biological hotspots in the #WAP and things aren't what they seem. 😉 Check it out here: rdcu.be/bQd5k #JGROceans #AGUpubs AGU (American Geophysical Union)
We will also be hearing from Dr. Stephanie Schollaert Uz, Applied Sciences Manager at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center during the #DelmarvaSWMS19 Symposium. We will learn about her career in the NASA Earth Sciences Division and what it's like working for the federal gov't.
