They're just ordinary marigolds. But when you look close - goodness. Gorgeous art. #Grateful to have noticed at the start of my day.

"As a baby, we find out about the nature of our own mind, the nature of our own thoughts & feelings, IN the responsiveness of the other." This film, with its incredibly important insight, was a central point in yesterday's #DaringVentures with Fife staff. youtube.com/watch?v=Qjfy-8…

Very proud to be part of this team, bringing #DaringVentures to 40 staff in Fife Council this week & next. We've had brave conversations about what it means for us human beings to be biologically wired for relationships - and what happens when systems resist this knowledge.

Brilliant that all children are being moved out of Scottish prisons to residential care settings. A great need to remember, although they have come from prisons - they are 'still children with lots of unmet needs'. And while in your care, you have an opportunity to met them.

"Rip up the behaviourist approach to education." Yes. Once upon a time the scientists & society did not understand the biology of nurture for children. Now we do. It is time for all adults to step into curiosity. The shift starts with each of us. Behaviourism harms children.

While schools talk about the fall out in behaviour & mental health, we put young children in settings with adults who (rightly) don't feel valued. Start with early years care. That is when fundamentals are established for children's biology.

When adults hear the word "boundaries", we tend to think of behavioural boundaries. What matters most for children's developmnt is *emotional boundaries*. The thing is - we adults don't tend to talk abt these. We often don't even see ourselves exercisng them. #DaringVentures
