Powerful convening of civil rights & ed advocates upholding Bob Moses' work bobmosesconference.com focusing on providing "children at the bottom w/ an education required for membership in our 21st-century hi-tech society" Proud of Nettrice discussing artivism, AI & Afrofuturism

Very excited to see my colleague, Nettrice included in a conference commemorating the work of Bob Moses, and joining civil rights & education activists to focus on ensuring educational opportunities to support engaged citizenship for black youth in a 21st century.

Wonderful to see this portrait of Bob Moses created by Nettrice and used as a backdrop by Dr. Janet Moses as she introduced Dr. Cornel West for closing remarks at the Bob Moses Conference - what a powerful event and catalyst for action and engagement.

Far too many Americans fear and hate math. Sadly, this is often related to the way they were taught math in school. Stanford professor Jo Boaler is one of the authors of a new California Mathematics Framework which is addressing this problem. I support this effort.

In 2022 my digital art has been on view at the Smithsonian, Carnegie Hall, the Umbrella Arts Center (MA), and now Lincoln Center (today). At least one of my pieces is in a permanent collection at the Smithsonian. Leah Buechley kind of predicted it in her Forward for my book.

Closer look at school closures and NAEP data, finding limited correlation (I'm surprised). There is a lot we don't know about what happened in schools during the pandemic, and a lot we don't know about what the effects will be. educationrecoveryscorecard.org/wp-content/upl…
