to me "shipping" is a little more than just saying you like a relationship and more like, you like a relationship enough to actually engage with it. because there is "oh yeah, this pair exist and makes sense" and there is "i need more people to send my hcs"

Is there a term for "ship" where it's clearly people only care for one half of it? I call them "satellite ships" in reference to Satellite Love Interest (when a characters doesn't have much more than being someone's lover) but I wonder if there is a better term for it.

This is why I think some ships get fanart and edits that go viral on social media, but not really have many people doing fanfiction except for getting them in the background. Because everyone "likes" them but nobody loves them.
