My daughter’s 21st celebrations and the Auchterarder Running Fesitval meant I got to spend the weekend surrounded by good people…and far too many cakes.

It’s the ‘tea in a mug’ derby IYKYK. Thought I’d missed a goal when getting a pie but offside. 2-0 to the Welfare (Yasss) but Thornton still well in this.

Two MOM performances over the weekend, first pro goal. Settled into the team brilliantly and has a great work rate. Looking forward to seeing Section C on Mason’s home jersey when league campaign starts. Mon the number 9️⃣ 🙌

No joy trying to get Einaudi tickets. They were disappearing off the screen in front of my eyes. Hoping for a wee bit luck on twickets next year. The sound inside the usher hall and the concert hall will be incredible.

A jam packed schedule for our GB Men prior to World Championships in May 2026. Very pleased we could deliver on our promise to bring GB Men back to Scotland, and the brilliant city of Edinburgh, for the first time in a VERY long time! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Was reminded recently by someone that when you are at a funeral, it won’t always be ‘someone else’s’, so be happy in what you do. I know it’s not the most cheery post for a Friday but as I look out the black tie from the wardrobe today, their words ring true a bit louder.

Sunday night games are a great way to sign off a weekend. But you can’t beat Saturday night hockey. Bratwurst, pretzels and a Flyers win. Section C was bouncing tonight!

What’s been reaffirmed to me at the rink and on socials this weekend, is the strength and spirit of community that exists within hockey. If any journalists want to know why this sport has grown and is growing in the UK, there are some great stories to be heard and told.

Missed the away game because of a new job. Missed this one for a stag weekend in Pitlochry. If we are looking good to qualify for the World Cup come November, ban me from going to any of the games.

Two games this weekend. The Welfare will play worse this season than they did yesterday and win - did everything but score. Today, a cracking day out with my son. Those screens were handy for the VAR. Three points and up the road!

A wee lad from Melrose stole 200 hearts at the #GrassrootsAwards at Hampden. Compared his football club to a jigsaw. Everyone is a piece of the puzzle and when they all come together make a really nice picture. He proudly told us he had found *his* jigsaw. The beautiful game ❤️

An enjoyable first trip to Venters Park to see Cowdenbeath central FC pick up a 3-0 win. Fiver to get in and plenty choice and value on that menu. When tea is the same price as a hotdog, there’s only one winner 🌭
