Wk3 #OUB329 – Learned about the risks of #charismaticleadership, which can lead to an erosion of accountability and ethical behaviour. Numerous political leaders come to mind; perhaps increased scrutiny and wariness should be given to future charismatic leaders Michael Leach

Wk4 #OUB329 I learned about the Global Leadership Mindset (GLM) and 3 elements: Orientation, Knowledge & Behaviour. The "orientation" element is a good reminder to keep an awareness of my own cultural biases and to be open to alternative views and approaches to work Michael Leach

Wk7 #OUB329 I thought about how my #identity changes in different contexts. I also reflected that I may have a different perception of myself from others. Kanes 3 steps would be useful in altering my identity in future leadership situations where my aim is to inspire Michael Leach

Wk8 #OUB329 I learned about the 4 leadership styles. When responding to scenarios, I found that I lean heavily to the coaching style. To encourage inclusiveness & boundaryless leadership, I could adapt my style to meet the needs of various situations and cultures Michael Leach

Wk9 #OUB329 I learned about the importance of #collaboration to empower & encourage employees to contribute/buy-in towards a common goal. I was interested in #collaborativeleadership and how open-ended the whole process must be to reach the best possible outcomes.Michael Leach

Wk10 #OUB329 Interesting to learn about #followercenteredleadership and that followers can actively impact upon leadership and project direction thru relational engagement This wk has been a useful reminder about my own ability to influence my workplace and community Michael Leach

Wk11 #OUB329 Constructive dissent, whilst often uncomfortable, can often be necessary to promote positive change and #innovation. I have been guilty of avoiding workplace confrontation, but this is a nice reminder that sometimes it can be a good thing when needed. Michael Leach

Wk12 #OUB329 I learned about #gametheory and how leaders of collaborating teams must manage competing aims (in various forms) towards a positive-sum outcome. At work, I may find collaborative projects easier if I consider other peoples aims and look for compromises. Michael Leach

Wk13 #OUB329 TMA02 is in the rear-view mirror...looking forward to getting stuck into the #B329LeadershipChallenge now :D Michael Leach

Wk14 #OUB329 I learned about the 3 steps for approaching leadership challenges: identify, prioritise and categorise This process should help as guidance for me and the members of my team to begin our "call-to-action" for the #B329LeadershipChallenge Michael Leach

Wk15 #OUB329 Interesting to think clearly about overt and covert #resistance, as well as the 4 faces of power and resistance These instances seem to be omnipresent in work and life - leaders should be able to recognise them and try to find an appropriate answer Michael Leach

Wk16 #OUB329 I learned about #activistleadership and how leaders can encourage democratic practices (such as agonistic conflict) to challenge their own ideas/practices and grow as a result. This week has encouraged me to experiment with conflict in the workplace. Michael Leach

Wk17 #OUB329 Interesting to learn about #socialchange and how leadership through storytelling can grab attention, reframe a discourse and rally support. This weeks coursework was useful to study whilst creating our groups #B329LeadershipChallenge call to action! Michael Leach

Wk18 #OUB329 I really enjoyed the collaborative process of creating a call to action with my group (#Group4) for the #B329LeadershipChallenge - Lucky to have commutative and motivated teammates to create an interesting CTA that tackles a wicked problem in nursing. Michael Leach
