Remember, remember to buy fireworks right. Social media, markets or pubs, are not a safe place for your purchase, so make sure that you visit a shop #FireworkSafety

This #BonfireNight2020 we're asking people to think twice before lighting bonfires and using fireworks in their gardens. Please respect the emergency services and NHS as they continue to work hard in the fight against #COVID19

Both stations have probationers at the same stage of development, so yesterday Hitchin Fire Station & Red Watch Stevenage combined to facilitate a Hazmat scenario to aid their learning. Very worthwhile exercise for all promoting lots of discussion points in the hunt for best practice 🚒

Today, we mark the 16th anniversary of the passing of FF Jeff Wornham and FF Michael Miller. Jeff and Michael tragically lost their lives fighting a fire at Harrow Court in Stevenage on 2 February 2005. We honour their memory today, and our thoughts remain with their families.

This week is our drowning prevention week. We are asking people to #BeWaterAware so they can enjoy time in and around water and reduce the risk of accidental drowning.

This is Fairlands lake in Stevenage. It looks so peaceful and inviting on a hot sunny day. If you find yourself unexpectedly in the water fight the urge to swim and float to live. For more information visit rnli.org/safety/respect… Julie Springett #BeWaterAware

Outdoor swimming has become really popular and is great for fitness and mental health. If you are thinking of taking the plunge then make sure you see our safety advice and better still join a club for support and guidance. bit.ly/32MHzFH #BeWaterAware #RespectTheWater

If you see somebody in trouble in the water - don't enter the water to rescue 📱 Call 999 or 112 🚁 Ask for the Coastguard when at the coast 🚒 Ask for the Fire and Rescue Service if inland #DrowningPreventionWeek #BeWaterAware bit.ly/2SZZiZd

A Lovely evening here at Fairlands Lakes. Red watch have been out giving advice to members of the public on water safety and drowning prevention. Even though the water looks inviting and the sun is out, the water is still very cold and dangerous. #wateraware

Huge thanks to all that came and supported us at Stevenage fire station for our car wash. Great amount of money raised for the firefighter charity.
