SVG to the rescue! At a loss trying to find the typeface for UP, I suddenly got inspired by Graphic Means and a parting conversation with Mark Porter at Ampersand Conference last year, and remembered that sometimes we just have to make our own type! #WIP #newNotes

Re-visited yesterday's Little White Lies inspired layout to add some CSS variables and tweak some blend-modes. Man I love CSS!

Went to the Tate Modern on Saturday and predictably fell in love with their signage and typeface. Here's Miles Newlyn on the creation of the Tate's custom font.. newlyn.com/news/the-face-…

Missing the north a lot lately so have been rummaging through old pics to connect with the old home. Almost forgotten I'd taken this on top of Harrison way back in 2012..

The results of Sunday’s CSS jam, I think I like it.. Trying to replicate some print design techniques from Document Mag in the browser. Originally a b&w image of Tony Alva, with background-image, pseudo selectors, CSS filters, blend modes and halftone bitmap added as layers.

Lots to do on this (I'm missing a font and *coughs an album size pic of Art Blakey..) but am loving what's possible typographically with CSS Grid right now. Nested grids are so cool too, using one on the h1 here...

This morning's CSS jam. Been meaning to try and recreate a semantic(ish) version of Black Diamond's logo for a while now, turns out it was pretty straightforward, mostly because Firefox 🔥's clipping path tools are just so cool!

Added a batch of new sleeves to my Blue Notes project today stevehoneyman.co.uk/blue-notes/ As before all layouts, type and typography are fluid, though this time CSS grid is used throughout, with filters and blend-modes creating aged effects. Some custom type too!
