I am seeing this deadening effect on writing at 8th grade. Just read 85 personal essays. Only 6 enlightened me, surprised me, taught me something new, made me care, engaged me... I pointed out what was done well, asked questions, gave suggestions— no change.

Tonight’s CPS Science Crepuscular Creep raised $1,686 on $2 tickets, although many overpaid. Just as important, we loved watching people have fun! We all need more fun. The pumpkins will be back next year with even more ideas.
