I noticed this rather intense tropo scatter this afternoon. The fluctuating signals were strong and appeared like e-skip. Nothing super-far, just around 100 miles. I wonder what would've caused this. It only lasted about a minute.

I found a good DX spot at Dead Horse Point State Park in Utahโ€ฆ lots of meteor scatter pings on the TEF6686, and the band is almost free of any strong local signals.

Today was a barn burner of an FM e-skip event! I finally finished counting, and 344 stations were received here by e-skip from live DXing. I still have to review my recordings, but thatโ€™ll take forever. The distances ranged from 447 to 1287 miles.

This is definitely the shortest hop of e-skip I've ever seen on FM. It's 100.5 WSJD Princeton, Indiana @ 369 miles. It beats my previous short-hop by 8 miles. That indicates the MUF was really high yesterday at the time of reception.

I was beginning to think the FM e-skip season was over. Itโ€™s been dead here for quite some time, and then we got a good opening yesterday. It even went short to South Carolina, <500 miles. There was one 250-watt translator on 92.1, W221CI from the Charleston area

Lots of meteor scatter going on this afternoon with the peak of the Perseids meteor shower occurring tonight... you can hear a couple different stations here on 94.5, WYYY Syracuse (306 miles) and WPST Trenton (360 miles)

This is the shortest meteor scatter I've ever seen on FM. It's 95.1 WYLE Grove City, PA at 64 miles. It's confirmed. This is the same meteor burst that 94.5 WYYY Syracuse is in.

Hereโ€™s a beautiful spot to DX along Lake Erie just a bit west of Cleveland. I took the TEF6686 out here last night and enjoyed the sunset and the lake-enhanced tropo. Lots of the local Cleveland stations were being wiped out by signals from across the lake.
