It is #ScienceWeek2022 at Star of the Sea. Our Star Boys are enjoying science activities and testing out scientific ideas.

For #ScienceWeek2022 we were fortunate to receive a visit from the science team at Lismore Heritage Centre. The science instructors worked with each class from first up to sixth. Our boys greatly enjoyed the activities led by their guest teachers.

During #ScienceWeek2022 our fifth class boys visited the Covanta incinerator facility in Dublin 4. They observed how refuse is converted to electricity.

We had beautiful November weather for our first hurling training session of the school year on Tuesday. Cumann na mBunscol matches far off on the horizon. We will enjoy winter training each Tuesday and Thursday for pupils in our fourth to sixth classes. Beginners are very welcome.

We are so proud of our debating team. The boys reached the final four in the Dublin rounds of the Concern Schools Debating competition. They narrowly lost their semi-final debate to a team from St Colmcille's, Knocklyon. We wish their excellent team all the best in the final

An exciting day for the Star Boys playing in their first match of the season CnmB Dublin Clanna Gael Fontenoy and wearing the school's new GAA kit. The 6th class parents of 2022/23 gifted these lovely jerseys to the school. Thanks to St. Laurence's, Kilmacud for a great match.

We have been having fun with maths this week. Today boys on third to sixth classes had a maths quiz and a length-measuring paper aeroplane challenge! #MathsWeek2023

Well done to Seth, who was the winner of of #MathsWeek2023 guess the number of sweets in the jar competition. Seth's estimate was just one away from the actual number of sweets!! Incredible! There were several other very close estimates throughout the school.

Our amazing senior football team had a run of great victories before losing at the semi-final stage to Scoil Thomais in an epic encounter. Best of luck to them in Croke Park. Thanks to the coaches, parents and CnmB Dublin organisers for another great season of football.
