FYI... Autistic people tend to think in complexities. Someone can ask us to do something seemingly straightforward, but our brains will often make it into something extremely complex and nuanced. We ask questions to untangle our thoughts.

I really don’t like hearing this either. Definitely feels like it minimizes it. But, I will say that in certain situations when it’s been said to me or in reference to my kids, it felt like they were saying it so we didn’t feel like we were alone or something. But still, 👎.
