Spots can provide excellent camouflage, especially when animals are young and defenseless. White spots on fawns help them blend in better with the sunlight-dappled forests & grasslands. Spots can also act as a warning against predators like the spots on ladybugs.

Make every day Earth Day by protecting the places you love. Conservation isn't just about setting aside land–it's about recognizing that healthy landscapes are our most powerful allies in finding nature-based solutions, protecting wildlife, and building climate resilience.

Thank you, Pro Tem Mike McGuire and Chair @casencaballero, for protecting CEQA to reduce wildfire risks & fight climate change. No other state law adequately ensures new development is designed to protect our communities from such disasters.

Fire is the inverse of growth—a natural process recycling nutrients, controlling competition, & making way for new life. While the prescribed burn planning process is very intentional, we do see changes to the land and the positive impacts fire makes.
