CAL FIRE resources in Sonoma County will be out with Sonoma Land Trust Monday & Tuesday conducting pile burning operations at the Pole Mountain Preserve between Jenner & Cazadero. The work is part of a long-term strategy to build local wildfire resiliency & benefit native habitat.

Big news for redwoods!🌲ABC7 News featured the Monte Rio Redwoods Expansion—a major conservation effort protecting 1,500+ acres of old-growth & second-growth forest. This clip from the broadcast shows how @SaveTheRedwoodsLeague, SLT, Sonoma County Ag + Open Space are working together.

Spots can provide excellent camouflage, especially when animals are young and defenseless. White spots on fawns help them blend in better with the sunlight-dappled forests & grasslands. Spots can also act as a warning against predators like the spots on ladybugs.

CAL FIRE was with Sonoma Land Trust surveying its Glen Oaks Ranch off Highway 12 on Tuesday. The agencies are collaborating on another prescribed burn, with the project at Glen Oaks Ranch projected to take place in two parts - a smaller 5-acre burn in a heavy brush component

Happy #30x30Thursday! In the heart of Sonoma Valley, the Sonoma Land Trust shared some inspiring news with us! After restoring the previously dammed  2.34 miles of Stuart Creek, a major tributary of Sonoma Creek, they have seen the a return of Chinook Salmon. The land trust has
