What do we have hair? Sorry... What do we have HERE? Can you tell us what this object from our 10 Year Anniversary Showcase is in close-up? ๐Ÿ”Ž We might have slipped with a little clue, but we think this is still a tricky one! We'll be back with an answer on Monday.

Did you work it out? Yea or neigh? ๐Ÿด From a WW2 field surgical kit, this is a tube of sterile horsehair sutures. Our Bloody Battles & Dangerous Diseases display takes a close look at military medicine, development of equipment and techniques aiding survival at the front line

More #ArtoftheGreatWar from the current exhibition! In this piece from artist Louis Icart, a French soldier kisses a woman wrapped in the tricolour, representing Liberty, before leaving to fight. She was modelled on Icart's wife. He also had to leave to serve in the French army.

It's the weekend, so time to take a close look at the collection! ๐Ÿ”Ž What is this? If you've had any long journeys over the Summer hols, you probably made sure to pack some of these. Well, not exactly like these...

A few delicate scraps of uniform, a well-used pocket watch, and a trench whistle, long silent. These were some of the few clues to the identity of the soldier who once used them. Who did they belong to? Join us with Ingram Murray for the full story: buff.ly/3Xr7bp4

It was this month in 2014 we were officially opened by HRH Princess Royal, but our collection's origins are in the Oxfordshire Yeomanry and Oxf & Bucks LI, which go back much further. But do you recognise this object in close-up? ๐Ÿ”Ž It's a rock hard question this week...

Did you work it out? Saturday's mystery objects was a model of Cowley Barracks - the old home of the Oxfordshire & buckinghamshire Light Infantry. It was carved from stone recovered when the barracks' keep was demolished. Even the stone is local - quarried from Charlbury!
