Very excited to see this out in print! In this review, Twitterless Mario Penzo and I attempt to synthesize cutting-edge circuit dissections of CeA with high-level behavioral theory 🧵1/5 nature.com/articles/s4159…

Recording from entire rat mPFC on Restaurant Row finds evidence for 4 separate functional subregions (ACC, dorsal PL, ventral PL, IL). Dorsal (ACC, dPL) more involved in active decisions; ventral (vPL, IL) more involved in motivational components. Some really cool stuff!

Excited to share our new eLife paper on interactions between the PFC and BLA, showing how rostral and caudal BLA engage different circuits in the prelimbic and infralimbic PFC, all done by my amazing student Kasra Manoocheri: elifesciences.org/articles/82688

I am thrilled to see my postdoctoral work finally published in Nature Neuroscience ! (free access here: rdcu.be/dpQhG). We used in vivo ephys and a new behavioral paradigm to elucidate what the PFC represents when mice face danger. These are the main findings of our work: 🧵

Online now in Neuron ! A tale of two neurotransmitters (glutamate and dopamine). We show how VTA glutamate projections to NAc paradoxically promote reward and aversion. What we found may surprise you! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
