If governments want to tax options (exercised or "deemed exercised") or shares on private companies with speculative future value, they should do it by taking a portion of those shares/options as payment. Put them in a sovereign wealth fund. Align incentives with founders.

The UK OSA is kinda stupid but i wouldn't bother fighting it because i kind of think detatching "who you pay for your internet" from "who you pay/trust for privacy" is a better system and OSA will hurry the arrival of VPN/Privacy by default.

Mandatory sentences cause miscarriages of justice, but exponentially increasing sentances seem fair. 1st conviction = 1 year 2nd conviction = whatever + 1st sentence again 3rd conviction = whatever + 1st and 2nd sentence again etc
