Pavel and Anatolii have been living at a migrant camp in Reynosa, Mexico for weeks. Like the thousands of other Russian migrants who have left, they flew through Istanbul, then Cancun then make their way to the US-Mexico border. Their plan is to claim asylum in the US.

While we were at the camp with Pavel and Anatolii, we got word that another Russian had just arrived. His name is Sergei and he’s a former police officer. He held and stroked a small rosary throughout the interview. Sergei left behind his wife and three children

We spent time with Maxim and Marina at the hotel they’d been staying in in Matamoros, Mexico. Next to them was another Russian family. And above them several more.
