Another incredible adventure with Long Way Home has come to an end. I thoroughly enjoyed this trip around Europe, which has taken the boys to some far flung and beautiful places. Their enduring friendship adds to that joy. Although I was surprised how little we saw of support crew.

Choosing to travel on vintage bikes made for an interesting element of the show, and brought the show back to what it should be. I enjoyed LW⬆️, but at times it felt like it was more about getting those electric bikes across the finish line, rather than the adventure itself.

Anyway, those old bikes showed they still have a lot of life and character left in them, as they racked up a few more miles. Even taking us to see an old friend in Switzerland, who we haven’t seen since 2004.

The last few episodes seemed to fly by as the boys followed the Alps on their way home - undoubtedly reflecting what it was like in that last stage of the trip. But it never felt like less of an adventure. One that - like every Long Way trip - inspires a yearning to hit the road.

As for the new team, well they’re great. They have some very twisty cases to solve, while facing their own issues with the job and the culture. And the show maintains that ‘I love L.A.’ vibe, that has permeated the franchise since the beginning. Fingers crossed we get S2.
