Censorship by social media platforms or govt isn't a sustainable solution to address increased misinformation. The best way to counter it is providing good access to useful information. 'False narratives' can't be prevented without providing a full account of the true narrative

"If you know the liars are out there, you’ll be careful; if you think the liars are everywhere, you might give up on the idea of truth altogether." Flagging untruths isn't a solution. Good information needs to be accessible and trusted to fully counter damaging false narratives.

#EvidenceKnowHow All tests give false positives. Giving the whole population full body scans would subject many to unnecessary extra testing and the psychological strain of being told they have a particular disease. On such scales, screening can cause more harm than good.

It's disappointing the government's first major policy has failed our #EvidenceTransparency test. While this bill has been prepared at speed, there is no good reason for supporting documents to omit the sources and calculations behind figures. senseaboutscience.org/activities/rai…
