Few pics from my apple oddessey last week. Wiltshire, Dorset, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire in the old Defender, got drunk with locals in Queen Camel and visited Yarlington.

First batch of '22 on the go, 50-odd litres of early windfalls. Yield on the low side, sugar high! Using the pomace for ciderkin, bit of an experiment to be honest.

Cider season

The one good thing Lizard Truss has done is to rule out a windfall tax, coz that's where most of me apples comes from!

Next year, please let the dandelions grow! They support over 50 insects species. They're a great early season food source for pollinators including bees, butterflies and hoverflies. No need to mow. And please don't use weedkiller. RT if you're on board 🐝

Blended a nondescript 2021 Perry with a very astringent quince/apple cider from 2020 (in a bucket prior to bottling, primed with shop bought pure apple juice 1:10) and it has turned into a very pleasant drink! Cheers!

Not much cider action today so made some pasties instead!
